Retro•Fixè @ Tattoo Bar

Tattoo Bar DC and Nikolas Groshans Events proudly invite you to the GRAND OPENING LAUNCH of...

Retro•Fixè

Come celebrate Pride at Tattoo where you will get into your groove with the party that is unlike any other in the city!!!

Dance the night away and experience an Audio/Visual Tour de Force brought to you every Wednesday night celebrating the best music from the past as never seen or heard before - re-mixed, re-tooled, re-vamped, and revved up and done right for your sensory enjoyment with a 90" projection and seven high-def screens as well as one of the most amazing sound and lighting systems in the area at urban-chic and fabulous Tattoo Bar DC.

While there are other clubs that offer retro nights, Retro•Fixè is the first weekly event of its kind in DC to offer such an intense dosage of skillfully edited music video and pop culture references mastered by DJ Benny C.

Retro•Fixè @ Tatoo Bar rocks with several private tables including the private "Rock Star" on the Mezzanine Level, boasting the added bonus of a “bird’s eye view” of the entire main bar. Whether it's meeting other hot patrons, dancing to amazing music mixed, mashed, and perfected, or taking in the décor of the various images of tattooed people as artwork, motorcycle chains, or the infamous “ghost rider” crashing the party over the bar- there's always plenty to enjoy at Retro•Fixè @ Tattoo Bar-and the party is just getting started...

Dark Planet Records Presents: Sherell Rowe Show
DC9 Nightclub
1940 9th Street NW
Washington, DC

Wednesday at 9:00pm - Thursday at 2:00am

After mesmerizing the crowd at Red Palace, critically acclaimed DC artist Sherell Rowe returns to blow up the stage at DC9. And this time, she is bringing friends.

Join Sherell and her Dark Planet crew as they begin their takeover of the world, one nightclub at a time.
Sherell Rowe - With her reputation for edgy lyrics and a swagger that makes her male counterparts cry, there is no question that Sherell is the main attraction. Hot off the release of her first EP, Sherell is out to stun the audience by unveiling elaborate choreography and brand new tracks. Allow her to introduce her entourage...

Cyra – Following the release of her single “Booty Pop’n’ Everywhere,” the ambitious, young rapper has been turning heads in the DC area with her no-nonsense vocals and gripping hooks. Fresh on the scene, this is Cyra’s first showcase, making it a coming out party of sorts. Sherell couldn’t be more excited to unleash upon her fans the unstoppable musical force that is Cyra.

The Roll Wit US All Stars - Washington, DC natives Mr. Clif and Malik Starx, the Roll Wit Us All Stars are a rapidly rising act at the forefront of hip hop's underground and the life of the party. With a love of everything from electro to g-funk and all styles in between, the group brings a demonstrated excellence to the table with each performance. Having rocked stages with a range of industry veterans including Mos Def, Ras Kass, Maino and the Souls of Mischief, the group absolutely succeeds at the rarest of goals, of being everything to everyone. Both quick witted and possessing razor sharp flows, the duo has an onstage presence that reminds many of Outkast due to their lyrical delivery and ability to handle subjects that move the body, mind and soul. The Roll Wit Us All Stars are representative of classic party rap culture blended with the skill to take rap beyond all borders. They are, in two emcees, representatives of the best of the hip hop experience.

Atoms Apart - After almost a decade of touring and playing in the DMV area brothers Mike and Emil Favila, have brought their combined experience and love of music to Atoms Apart. With a mix of new wave, electronic music, rock and pop, their songs both challenge and draw you in. Atoms Apart are also performing as part of Sherell's backing band on guitar and drums.

And DJ sets by...

Lemz – A veteran of the Dark Planet family, Lemz has been working with Sherell and company since day one. Lemz specializes in spinning hard, nasty Electro, Progressive, and House tunes, while getting even the most seasoned partygoers lose their minds. In addition to leading banging parties, Lemz has begun producing his own original tracks, including Sherell’s “Jump Anthem.”

DJ MadScience – DJ MadScience, has become the personal creative outlet for Jesse Jackson, CEO and producer of Dark Planet Records. From his weekly residence at Cobalt nightclub, to the fraternities of Gettysburg College, DJ Madscience has been putting audiences into dance frenzies with his diverse sound, which he describes as “ADD on crack!”

The Roll Wit Us All Stars - http://www.facebook.com/Ro

In anticipation of this event being a sell out, PLEASE RSVP here, on this Facebook invite, to guarantee admittance. Tickets are $7 at the door. 18+

A GUY CALLED GERALD - LIVE IN SESSION

We welcome legendary UK producer A Guy Called Gerald debuting "LIVE in SESSION" for the first time in Washington DC.

Over the past five years A Guy Called Gerald has been touring the world bringing his entire production suite into the club for every performance. It's a fluid jam session exploring new rhythms and sounds but always keeping it deep and soulful with one eye firmly on the dancefloor.

When he says live, he means live: “it's not a DJ set - there are no mp3s - no wavs - no aiffs - no preset sounds - you are hearing a fluid freestyle mixdown of my own music and my own individual takes on classics referencing the past - direct at 96kz - the exact quality and set up I use to write and record in my studio.”

Gerald began as one the original members of 808 State and produced the huge crossover instrumental 'Pacific State' in the late '80s at the same time going solo. From the timeless dancefloor hit 'Voodoo Ray' and 'Blow Your House Down', the release that put British acid house on the map, to '28 Gun Bad Boy' and the Juicebox releases which gave jungle a blueprint, to 'Black Secret Technology' and 'Essence', no other British dance music artist since the acid house explosion has produced as many important records as A Guy Called Gerald. His genre busting reputation traces back to his heritage in black dance music, particularly reggae, jazz and electro funk in the underground clubs in Manchester. Of course his early contributions to acid house and techno cemented his place in dance music culture folklore but his sphere of influence also went deep into the beginnings of drum ‘n’ bass, before coming full circle to today and his proto-acid sound, descended directly from Detroit and Chicago. Over the last ten years he has released on definitive labels Perlon, Sender, !K7 and Beatstreet. In 2010 he released his 9th album, 'Tronic Jazz The Berlin Sessions', the follow up to 2006 'Proto Acid The Berlin Sessions' on Laboratory Instinct, descended directly from Detroit and Chicago.

Live preview recorded recently for Fabric in London:
