JANKY SWEATER PARTY

Last year, BreakfastClub (your favorite 80s | 80s Remix Dance Party) joined forces with The Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ youth, and the Duplex Diner to bring you the JANKY SWEATER PARTY! We had so much fun that we had to do it again! And this sequel will be bigger, bolder, and better for your soul. 'Cause not only will you help an organization that does so much good for the LGBTQ community, you'll also get to do it while dancing in the most hideous holiday sweater you own.

There's no cover for this soiree, but a $10 donation to The Trevor Project at the door would be mighty swell. Remember: 'tis the season for giving! Oh, and you get a champagne cocktail on the house with your donation, courtesy of Duplex.

Party starts at 9 PM and ends when She-Ra and He-Man save Christmas.

(Profits from drink sales will not benefit Trevor Project)

International Dining in DC: District Kitchen

2606 Connecticut Ave.  NW
Washington DC  20008

I haven't done a restart review in a long time, so heres to picking back up.  So I planned to meet a bunch of friends for District Kitchens Brunch.  I have passed by this place several times and saw signs for unlimited mimosa and thought I'd check it out.

Arriving the place was filled with four tables of people it was quite and calm.  little did we know the Marriott around the corner was doing some kind of expo with high school kids.. thats when hell broke loose.  I don't think the staff was well equipped for what was about to happen.  The restaurant got packed and VERY loud.  the walls are bare brick so sound will echo, well it was kind of unbearable at times I couldn't even hear the person next to me talking.

Upon ordering we all told our waitress that we were doing the unlimited mimosas.  Well it's not so much unlimited when there is a 2 hour limit!!!  And We told our waitress to keep an eye on our table to keep filling us up.  she was overwelmed with all the tables she suddenly had two servers for the whole restaurant not a good idea for a Sunday.  We even asked if she could just leave a pitcher of mimosa on the table, that was against the liquor law or something she said.  either way she took forever to refill our drinks as we wanted to have a Sunday funday.

The food was good, My eggs benedict was prepared right, unlike some other restaurants and the decor was old fashioned and rustic which brought me into this establishment.

Over all my visit on a scale of 1-10 I have to give it a 4.  I probably will visit for dinner to see how the food is and see that night atmosphere.

MAZE is coming to NBM

The National Building Museum wants visitors to get lost in a new installation in the museum's Great Hall this summer.
On Friday, the museum is unveiling a large-scale maze with a series of twists and turns for visitors to navigate to find a big reveal at the center. The maze stands 18 feet high and measures 60 feet by 60 feet around.
The maze is designed by Danish architectural firm BIG-Bjarke Ingles Group. Unlike a traditional maze that becomes more convoluted at the center, the designers say this maze is different. As a visitor travels deeper into the maze, the path brings more clarity. On the inside, the walls slowly descend toward the center.
Organizers say this is the first large-scale building installation inside the National Building Museum since 1988.
The attraction will run from July 4 until Sept. 1.
Tickets are only available in person and cost $16 per adult, and $13 for children but lower prices do apply for museum members. Find out more information, including late nights and special pre-opening "buildout tours," at the museum's website.

SUNGLASS SUNDAY's

☼ Welcome to our third season of SGS ☼

- Last week the Dj for Dj's also known as THREE did the most personal sets that brought fans from other cities together to hear him play on the rooftop. THank you all.

- We now bring to you the original pioneer to the underground scene known as MR. C. He graces us to play a LIVE special performance on the decks. Come join us to celebrate the creator of SGS LEO's BDAY with support from JOE LIEHR, WILL JOHNSTON, DAVE ROSENBERG, NAVBOX, and CHRIS NITTI to share in this occasion.

☼ We invite you back to something familiar, fun, and for a great cause. SUNGLASS SUNDAYS, the most laid back local rooftop party in the city. Comprised of musicians, artist and locals in our community. A day for friends and family to enjoy some of the most premiere talent of local djs in the underground scene. This year we have teamed up with ONE SIGHT,http://www.onesight.org/na/donate/donate_eyewear/ A charity that takes donated sunglasses and eyewear to recycle into prescription eye glasses for children in need. So if you have a pair of sunglasses or eye glasses that are broken and old, bring them to be remade to help the less fortunate. Now we can enjoy a great day with amazing music and know that we are changing peoples lives.

- About our guest - ( MR.C )

Richard West aka Mr.C was born in London in the late 60's. He started MCing in London clubs aged only 16 & soon earned a reputation as a fast talking vivacious rapper working with LWR radio's Ron Tom, Jasper the Vinyl Junkie & Jazzy M. Mr.C then hooked up with Colin Faver & Evil Eddie Richards to became resident rapper at the legendary Camden Palace going on to MC for Colin Faver on the then illegal pirate radio station Kiss FM. Mr.C went into the studio to record his 1st house track with Eddie Richards as Myster-E which was released in August 1987. This inspired Mr.C to become a DJ to learn more about his beloved House & Techno music so in late '87 Richard took to the decks.
