MODA for MEN

Cough Cough.  More moda for men news in the headlines for DC.  Fashion is coming forward in Georgetown is seems as of late.  More and more stores are closing only to be replaced by more higher end store while the others flee to the malls or to Chinatown.  This time we look at two new stores moving in right next to each other.

Brooks Brothers the classic American men's wear clothier of preppy prep fashion will be opening in the former Pottery Barn in Georgetown on 3077 M St.  NW off of 31st.

In other news, right next door it seems as though MAC is closing it's doors and RAG + BONE will be taking their place.  RAG + BONE is a mucho expensive store for you fashionastas.  Mind you a plain t-shirt will throw you back $85.

International Dining in DC

1781 Florida Ave.  NW
Washington DC

I have fallen in love with a restaurant!  I had been here two times on Sunday Once for breakfast and then later in the day for drinks.  Let me tell you something, I have been searching high and low for REAL Belgian waffles.  My father used to bring boxes of Belgian waffles back from overseas when he would go on trips and I could never find any.  I saw them on the menu and asked if they were the ones!  the ones with the sugar cubes/crystallized sugar in them.. to my delight, I was answered back with a big YES!  I was like a kid in a toy store.  I ordered three right then and there.  I ordered them with out anything on top which is the right way to eat them.

The location of the cafe is perfect.  It's a side angled cafe with outdoor seating and plenty inside.  they have a large kitchen for making chocolates.  the staff is very friendly and you can see the owner working hard on his creations in the kitchen.

I did try a couple of other things for breakfast, I had the Chimay Cheese & Ham Panini.  It was very good.  My friend had a smoked salmon with a spinach waffle, and little side salad.  he said it was awesome.  Let's not forget the beer selection which is pretty big for a small cafe, we had the Delirium tremens beer.  The Chocolate cappuccino in the morning was excellent.

ooh Yeah and the deserts are world class yummy.  check these out.  on the left is a Eclair and on the right is lemon tart.  Lemon tart was my favorite.  not a fan of over flowing things with creamy centers!  just me.  I really hope you all can check this spot out.  it's another on my favorite list.

DC BEER (DC BRAU Brewing Co)

Ahhh.. Finally a beer we can call our own.  YES! DC is getting their first Brewing company since like ages ago.  Remember the beer company that used to occupy the site of the Kennedy Center!  ok well neither do I.  I wasn't even alive, But there was one there.  The fact is that DC is a world class town and we have world class restaurants and hotels.  We are a beer town! Forget those cocktails you pansies.  Grab a cold one and chill, don't get your undies in a bunch, huh!

Thanks to two guys Brandon Skall and Jeff Hancock these two hometown heros are starting a brewery and DC will once again be put on the beer map once again.  These fine lad's have quite a background when it comes to brewing and getting around the local bar scene.  Let me stop babbling and you check out their website.

MODA for MEN

First to report the REISS store located at 1254 Wisconsin Ave.  will be closing May 14th.  So go check out some of their sale items.  Mind you they will not be doing a large blow out sale.

Another store to be closing at the end of this month is Club Monaco for all of you mall goers they will still have the store in pentagon city mall and Tyson's.

All of these stores have great styles for the spring and summer, and even have their winter items on sale.
