Ice skating

Georgetown Waterfront Ice Rink

The Georgetown waterfront ice rink will take center stage Dec. 1 during a just announced "Winter on the Water" celebration.
The event, from 4 to 7 p.m., will feature ice skating performances, a St. Lucia presentation and special food and beverages, among other entertainment.
The "Winter on the Water" fete complements theSwedish Christmas Bazaar at the neighboringHouse of Sweden from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. the same day.
"The Swedish choir will present a St. Lucia procession from the bazaar into the Washington Harbour plaza at 5:15 p.m. then perform carols at Winter on the Water," according to a press release.
The Georgetown waterfront ice rink will be open from mid-November through March seven days a week. Hours are noon to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; noon to 10 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. The rates are $9 for adults; $7 for children, seniors and military. Skate rentals are $5.

4 to 7 p.m.: Continuous entertainers and creative lighting effects; special food and beverages served outdoors
4 p.m.: Montana Ignacio – Ice skating performance
4:30 p.m.: Georgetown Phantoms – 30 minute a cappella performance
5 p.m.: The Gardens Figure Skating Club – Ice skating performance
5:15 p.m.: St. Lucia Procession from the House of Sweden
5:30 p.m.: Swedish Choir Performance
6 p.m.: Mini-Supremes Bowie ISI Synchronized Skating Team – Ice skating performance
The Georgetown Waterfront ice rink will host additional activities throughout the skating season, including Cartoon Skate from noon to 2 p.m. and Rock-N-Skate from 8 to 10 p.m. every Saturday; College Night every Thursday; Skate with Santa from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22.
