The Smithsonian will commemorate the 10- year anniversary of the Sept 11 terrorist attacks with a sepcial display for one week. The National Museum of American History will feature objects from New York, the Pentagon and Shanksville, PA. and from the Transportation Security Administration, from Sept 3 to 11. The items will be shown on tables rather than behind glass to create a more intimate experience for visitors. Objects include airplane fragments, a crushed New York Fire Department firetruck door, a Pentagon building map and other objects. The display will be open from 11am to 3pm daily.
