Alma Tropicalia

BlackCat DC
1811 14th St.  NW
Washington DC

Saturday 9pm - 1am

Alma Tropicália is pleased to invite you to a global dance party at the Black Cat, stretching from the psychedelic sambas of Brazil to the rocksteady beats of Jamaica to the new sounds of Philly Soul.

Alma Tropicália is a one-of-a-kind musical experience paying tribute to the legendary Tropicália movement of 60s Brazil, a hallucinogenic blend of tribal rhythms, psychedelic rock and irresistible Brazilian melodies. Don't miss your last chance to catch them in DC this fall before they hit the road for a series of out of town dates.

Joining them is DC's own Lucky Dub, a nine-piece reggae ensemble, and Philly-based electro-dance phenoms, Coup Couroux, touring on their debut album, produced with members of Los Amigos Invisibles.

Alma Tropicália is:

Elin - lead vocal
Kim Jade Fry - bass & vocal
Matt Perrone - guitar & vocal
Bill Dempsey - keyboards & vocal
Ben Takis - drums
with special guest Alejandro Lucini on percussion.
