International Dining in DC: Buck's Fishing & Camping

5031  Connecticut Ave.  NW
Washington DC

I used my Living Social coupon here at Buck's!  I had been before, and I thought this would be a great way to go back and try their new entrees!  We arrived very early at 5pm.  the doors were not open yet so we went to CVS to read some magazines.  Walking back, you don't think of a nice restaurant on this side of the street in upper Conn. ave.  The decor is the restaurant brings you into the back woods, almost as if you were sitting in a log cabin!!  very rustic in decor.   The crowd is mostly neighbors who frequent the spot.  My friend tried the Salmon W/ spaghetti quash and I stuck with the classic Steak with fries.  Both plates were cooked beyond perfection.

Awesome Street Art

Meridian Hill Park

Walking through Meridian Hill Park, I come to the chill zone and leave everything at the entrance to the park.  Here you lose your self and relax, Stroll the paths, lay in the grass.  This is the city's park and I think We should start using the park as a meeting place once again.  I'd like to see concerts held in the park again.  More and more you see families!  It's awesome how much this city has changed in the last 12 years!  Take a look at some of these photos of now and then from Meridian Hill Park.

Meridian Hill Park around it's opening, you can still see the grass hasn't grown alot and the trees are still small.  If you notice there are large sculptures it looks like above where the fountain starts!  What happened to those??

I would really like to see concerts or social events held in the park again. pic is from 1940

DC Yester-years

I thought these images were great to share.  Anyone remember the old Greyhouse bus station on NY Ave, downtown.  Well the newer one is over in back of the train station, goes to show how much this mode of transportation gets treated now-a-days, it's in the back of Union Station, and back then it was downtown.  Weird how things change.  Check these images out

International Dining in DC : Founding Farmers

1924 Penn Ave.  NW
Washington DC

Sunday Brunch in DC!  Yes, all restaurants are packed!  People are talking about what happened over the weekend, or are still hung over from the night before!  Brunch in DC has become a hype of some sort!  Go get your unlimited Mimosa and eat your greasy food at the same place.  ME on the other hand, I love going to new restaurants and trying new foods.  I decided to make a brunch date with two friends and meet them there and try out the semi-new restaurant.

Walking in is just MAD, be prepared to pull hair and yell for a table, there's gonna be a wait!!!!  a long wait!  So I made reservations but those dates go fast on Open Table!  The decor is modern but has a country feel, Organic almost! then again, the whole building which is the IMF is a LEEDS certified building!  so it's all organic!  The menu was big and since I had two friends who can't eat gluten foods, this place was good for them as well!  Large large fresh and colorful salads and the stuffed french toast is a GOOD one!  I tried out the Chicken and waffles!  Yes, you can say I'm a little crazy on finding the best chicken and waffles here in DC.  It's a staple of a food!  So I'm thinking Founding Farmers won me over!  This is by far a really great restaurant, for Brunch and I will defiantly come for dinner!
