Friday November 11, 2011
10am - 1pm

Be part of an historic photo shoot to support veterans & help raise the flag on the National Mall on Veterans Day!

Arrive at 10am, photo to be taken at 11am sharp!

ABOUT: This Veterans Day, 11.11.11, the Metabolic Studio’s Optics Team and their amazing Liminal Camera (a HUGE instatamatic camera!) are presenting Washingtonians with the opportunity to be a part of history on the National Mall!

Come support America’s heroes by joining veterans from the East and West Coasts as they meet on the National Mall to raise a giant flag in honor of Veterans Day. The flag raising will be part of a photograph taken by the world’s largest Pocket Instamatic Camera, the Metabolic Studio’s Liminal Camera. This photograph is inspired by and pays homage to the Bonus Army’s Encampment on the Mall of seventeen thousand World War I veterans and their supporters in Washington DC in 1932.

FLASH MOB CAN CAN: The photograph will be followed by a flash mob can can! A brand new Can Can with a special message to the President! Instructions and song lyrics will be given out at 10am for those who want to participate. Meet on the National Mall at the same spot as the photograph: 3rd street SW between Madison and Jefferson Avenues on the National Mall. Look for the giant gophers! Yes, I said gophers. Dance to happen at 11:11 am.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY: 11.12.11 – 11.13.11
Go see the photograph! Along with a video screening and a selection of images from the Liminal Camera Tour at the Hirshhorn Museum. Visitors will also be able to go inside the Liminal Camera, parked on Jefferson Street near 7th, between the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.
