ASIA After Dark

You know the 202 is all about museum exhibits, The Freer and Sackler Galleries are throwing down this time for the first ASIA AFTER DARK event, a multi-purpose party that will have art, fashion of Japan and raise money for the Japanese earthquake victims in a rock type of nightclub atmosphere.



World renowned DJ Steve Aoki and DC's very own Cassidy Karakom will take to the decks for spin those jams.  Sake cocktails and sushi will be available.  Harajuki style or Kimonos are the suggested dress. There will be models wearing harajuku fashions mingling with the crowd. 

Asia After dark will host a give-by-text rally to benefit Japanese earthquake victims.  And you can visit the exhibits in the museum as well with the current exhibit being Seasons: Arts of Japan and Seasons: Japan Screens.

  • DJ Cassidy Karakorn (6:30–8:15 pm)
  • Spotlight tour in The Religious Art of Japan (7:30 pm)
  • Give-by-text rally to benefit Japan (begins at 8:20pm)
  • DJ Steve Aoki (8:30–10:30 pm)
  • Harajuku fashion presentation
  • Photo booth
  • Poetry in Motion art activity
  • Cash bars and food by Well Dunn and Kushi Izakaya & Sushi

Must be 21 years old with a valid photo ID to attend.
