International Dining in DC: SUNdeVICH

1314 9th St.  NW
Washington DC

I've been wanting to try this new hoogie/sandwich shop in the alley I've been hearing so much about!  I finally headed there yesterday, We were so lucky we were the last persons to be let in as they had just ran out of ingredients.  I totally fell in love with this place, It's small and personable and yet unique.  You can see the cook slaving away making the food and there are only two tables.  When they run out of food they lock the doors and close for the day.  Their sandwiches are the best thing ever, they have a large chalk board as you come in and tells you what kind of sandwiches they have and then another that tells you what they are out of!  you must try, get there early as you never know when they will close due to the fact this place has people waiting to get a bite.

SUNdeVICH is a new sandwich shop located in the Shaw neighborhood of DC.

The converted garage space is located in the historic Naylor Court alley on 9th Street between N and O Streets.

A globally inspired menu offering, SUNdeVICH serves a wide range of international flavors and product offerings. The idea is that every sandwich is named after an international city and will utilize ingredients and flavors true to that country or region.
