Alma Tropicalia

2001 14th St.  NW
Washington DC

Alma Tropicália is the only band this side of Rio reimagining the psych-samba sounds of 60’s tropicália music from Brazil, a mind-bending mix of soulful funk grooves, day-glo psychedelia, and political ferocity that has quickly earned the young group ecstatic reviews and packed performances across the region. The band's daring lineup combines a masterful Brazilian vocalist with the unhinged energy of a punk-bred backing band, playing a mix of classic Brazilian psychedelic covers and originals.
