"Do you want a bag", is what the cashier asks me! "No", I reply I have my own. Starting Jan 1 2010 a new decade brought in a new law into Washington DC, a bag fee of five cents. Yes I said five cents, after a while that can add up, going to the market, the 7-11, the carry out even your local sports store yes thats right. The Law for bag fees is that any place that sells food has to charge a five cent fee, even if they are little snacks at the counter before you leave the store.

So Iam bringing you this article to you, because it's all about saving the environment especially the Anacostia River that's over polluted with plastic BAGS. So if you wanna get your fix on fashionable Reusable bags head over to your local Target, Safeway, Giant, or even you little boutiques, they may sell them as well. The first couple of weeks the local markets were giving away bags.

with out a doubt the best cupcakes in DC is HELLO CUPCAKE. This spot offers a place to sit outside or inside to relax with a glass of milk or coffee. Located just south of Dupont Circle on Conn Ave. These fancy cupcakes are moist and yummy with every bite, the cream on the top is not that bland colored icing other places use. HELLO get the real deal. This is my favorite cupcake spot in DC. the others do not compare.

MODA for men in DC

Men's stores can be hard to find in DC if your not familiar with the stores. Some of the stores I am going to be posting only have a little corner in the store deciated to men's fashion but hey iam here to help the men find fashion in this city besides shopping at the mall, help out an independent store, helps the neighborhood and the local economy. National Museum of African Art: exhibit featuring Yinka Shonibare

The Museum of African art has been there for years but I never step foot into this beautiful building until last sunday. The museum is connected underground with the National Asian art museum both look like little gate houses but there are stairs that lead you under the garden into large galleries and corridors with classrooms. This exhibit was a change from the normal art exhibits that usually come to DC. photography and ballet dancers adorn the open theathers. there is an adult only section if you want to see artistic sexual poses in Yinka's garbs which is wildly colorful. the figures are all posed and in act of what colonial whites would have looked like but with a twist of these colorful african garments. stare at the exhibts read into them. make you wonder if the world would have been backwards like he wanted us to think from the exhibit. hurry up this is only in town until March 7, 2010

New Decade 2010

2010 is here, and by it being so it's a so called new start for things "NEW". New friends, new activities, new places to eat, new places to check out, new routine! it's all about doing new things. I rang in the NEW year with friends at a small dinner party it was very social no loud music, no cover, no wild drinking. it was time for a change. I mean aim turning thirty this year for Christ sake. So I hope you all had a great New Year's Eve and hope this new decade and new year bring you wealth and good health, all that good stuff. and you can count on this Blogg being back up since I was out of commission for a couple months!
