Washington Monument Earthquake Damage

The Earthquake happened as we know, and we had conflicting reports the the Washington Monument was leaning or had large cracks.  Now a month after, we know, it is not leaning but does have some cracks at the top of the monument!  Here is a press conference from National Park Service and raw footage while in the Monument with tourist.

As of Yesterday they started to check the cracks, from the pictures here I post.

As many of us return from our adventures out west it is important to remember and celebrate the fact that our community is not to be taken for granted. We are a diverse group of creative individuals that can accomplish anything when we work as a unit. Our intention behind joining forces with some of our favorite crews from up and down the east coast for this very special night was to try and welcome anyone and everyone to celebrate the the beauty of our community as one group, in one place. International Dining in DC : Ulah Bistro

1214 U St.  NW
Washington DC

OK, a couple months ago I did a post on some of the top spots to get Mac-n-Cheese here in DC.  Well I finally went and tried Ulah, after much fanfare.  We got seated immediately on a Friday night on U Street go figure, Outside dining on U street is the best, perfect people watching.  So I finally tried the mac.  HOLLY HELL.  This has to be the best mac ever which was my appetizer.  I then ordered the Lamb which was so good it totally fell off the bone, it was glazed with something sweet can't remember but it was so good, came with small pieces of bread and under the lamb was a pond of pasta noodles.  this is a must to go back and try the brunch.  I give Ulah four **** stars out of five.

Mac n Cheese with corn bread

The wait staff was very friendly and told me what she liked and what the restaurant was known for or what their main dish was.  Which I ordered.  The rest rooms were clean and plenty of space to find a table.  All very good reviews.

MODA for MEN

I want to give a special thank you to Amanda over at Barracuda Film & TV.  She saw my blog and gave me something interesting to post you to gentlemen out there wanting more of a classic look for this fall/winter.  The clothes are all from H&M Modern Classics collection that is now in stores.  Tom Stubbs shows us how the this fall/winter 2011 we will be seeing pinstripes, tweed and three piece suits for the modern young hip guys.

Red Friday's

Red Friday's
w/ Miguel Migs
Lisa Shaw
Double 07

U Street Music Hall
1115 U St.  NW
Washington DC

Friday 10pm - 1 am

Red Fridays at U Street Music Hall presents -

MIGUEL MIGS w/ LISA SHAW on vocals [ Salted Music | SF ]

DOUBLE o7 [ One Love Massive | DC ]

Miguel Migs, who as new album ‘Outside the Skyline’ shows, is now moving well and truly beyond the limitations of the house scene in which he first made his name. His deep seated love of reggae and dub shines strongly through as well as his passion for classic rock, blues, funk and soul.

Not that his career to date hasn’t been illustrious enough. Just look the list of collaborators he’s managed to attract: original disco diva Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King, reggae legends Capleton, Half-Pint and Freddie MacGregor, Meshell Ndegeocello, nu-jazz singer Georg Levin and bossa nova phenomenon Bebel Gilberto all feature on the album, alongside Migs’ regular vocal co-conspirators, Aya and Lisa Shaw. No slave to metronomic dancefloor rhythms and tempos, the resulting long-player blends influences from house, jazz, reggae, soul and more, with a heavy emphasis on high-quality songwriting – and equally high production values.

Lisa Shaw has been a proven staple in the deep house world. She helped define an era with her releases on Naked Music, and continues to create timeless gems. Both albums “Cherry & “Free” take it back to the basics, while “sweet and simply” taking it beyond. Lisa looks forward to the future of her music career and strives for a constant push to explore modern sounds but most important is keeping the essence behind the music no matter how it changes.

Still wondering what the hell a pocket gay is?

Think short/cute/tiny/portable/e
asily transportable in your pocket sized. (it's okay, some of us are slower learners than others). Sunday School isn't just for pocket-sized gays, though. It's a party for guys, gays, girls, straights, trannys, pockets, tall kids, etc etc etc who want to relax, unwind, and have a good time before work tries to steal their soul for another week

Fun Fact about DC

Although DC residents pay taxes to the federal government, they do not have a voting representative in Congress. That's why you may see license plates on cars that say “No Taxation without Representation.”

Just Awesome

Worst Drivers of 2011

DC was recently voted the worst drivers in the nation.  HAHA  I think it's actually all of the virginia people driving into the city!  DC should put toll booths on the bridges so those people should have to pay, that would be a big boost to the DC budget.
